Welcome, off-campus employers!

Thank you for choosing to support the education of our students through the student employment experience. Off-campus employers may use the services of the Student Employment Office to hire Pepperdine students.  All employers (nonprofit organizations, for-profit companies, and private citizens) may use our free job portal website called CareerSpace to list available positions (see instructions below on how to access Careerspace). 

Examples of commonly posted part-time positions include:

  • tutoring
  • babysitting/part-time nanny
  • dog walking
  • house sitting
  • personal assistant

What is CareerSpace?

CareerSpace is Pepperdine University's online job-posting platform that is utilized by both employers and students. 

Student Employee Salaries

Student employee salaries are at the discretion of the employer, but all jobs must have a base pay of $9.00 or more to be within compliance of the State of California's minimum wage requirement.

Process for First-time Users of CareerSpace

If you are interested in posting a job at Pepperdine, and it is your first time using our services, please follow the steps below:

1. Go to CareerSpace:

2. Simply click on Register and Post Jobs at Pepperdine University (Free).

  • If you wish to post a job at multiple schools nationwide, click on Register and Post a Multi-School Job (There is a minimal fee associated with this specific type of posting.)

3. After you have registered and provided a job description, the Student Employment Office will review the registration and the job posting. You will receive an email within three business days regarding the approval status of the position.

After Account Approval/Returning User of CareerSpace

If your registration has been approved and you would like to post a job, and/or if you are an experienced user of CareerSpace and would like to post and/or renew a previous posting, please follow these steps:

1. Go to CareerSpace:

2. Log-in using your email address and password.

3. If you would like to post a new position, click on "Jobs" at the top of the page. (If you are renewing a previous posting, please skip to #7).

4. Click on "Add New" to post a new position.

5. Follow the prompts and questions.

6. Click "Submit" to finalize your posting or "Save and Finish Later."

7. If you would like to renew a previous posting, you can view previous job postings by:

  • Click on "Jobs" at the top of the page.
  • Click on "Archived Jobs"
  • View all the jobs posted in the past.
  • Click on the "Jobs" category.
  • Click on "Job Postings (non OCR.)"
  • Click on "Add New."
  • Where it says "Copy Existing," click on the "Show Archived" button.
  • Drop down to the positions that were Archived in the past to select previous job postings that you would like to renew. Be sure to change the Job Title (hint: delete the "(Copy)" and edit the posting according to your need).
  • Go through all questions carefully and make any necessary changes.
  • Click "Submit"

NOTE: We do not approve positions that are commission-based, and/or provide room and board as the only means of compensation. Please provide a set salary (such as an hourly rate pay, weekly pay, or monthly pay depending on the nature of the job.)

How do I remove a job posting?

If the student accepts the job and you do not require additional help, remove the job listing online or contact us so that we can remove the position from CareerSpace. Job postings will be removed automatically after a set period of time, but if you would like to remove your job listing, please follow the steps below:

1. Go to CareerSpace:

2. Log-in using your email as your username and the password you used to register on the website.

3. Click on "Jobs" at the top of the page.

4. Click on "Job Postings (non OCR)."

5. Look at the active job(s) listings that you posted at the bottom of the page.

Click "Deactivate" beside the job listing.
