Areas of Responsibilities

The Alumni Leadership Council is guided by the following "Areas of Responsibilities."

Ownership & Partnerships

  • Live the University mission through key roles as leaders, partners, advisors, ambassadors and voices of alumni
  • Communicate the shared vision and our mission of the University
  • Forge and maintain strong partnerships with the University and its five schools/deans
  • Consistently ensure we are the voice of alumni

Alumni Affinity & Engagement

  • Champion and strategize around all the ways alumni connect
    How? In chapters, affinity groups, online, etc.

    What? In service, mentoring, hiring, internships, learning events, networking, and athletics
  • Deploy Waves of Service as an engagement strategy
  • Ensure alumni connect with students
  • Encourage a mentoring, hiring and connection culture
  • Encourage a giving culture and ownership of the university’s future

Promote Awareness & Communications

  • Build the “alumni brand”
  • Define and communicate the value of the relationship between Alumni Association, the ALC and alumni
  • Define and communicate the relationship between the ALC and chapters/affinity groups from all schools
  • Define what it means to communicate “Pepperdine” (as ambassadors)
  • Become the true voice of alumni by connecting and collecting on-going feedback from alumni
