Pepperdine University today announced the finalists for the first Parkening International Guitar Competition. The Parkening, the world’s preeminent guitar competition with the largest prize purse of any classical guitar competition, takes place Tuesday, May 30, through Friday, June 2, 2006, on the University’s campus in Malibu, California.

The Parkening International Guitar Competition announced the philanthropists that have underwritten major prizes for the May – June 2006 event at Pepperdine University in Malibu, CA. These donors are in addition to Howard and Robert Ahmanson, who are major funders for the entire competition.
