A native Angeleno and graduate of Biola University and Songfest, Katie Van Kooten went on to study at the Guildhall School of Music and Drama in London. She made her Covent Garden debut as Magda in La Rondine in November 2004. This recital is presented in cooperation with Songfest, a vocal training program-in-residence at Pepperdine University. Rosemary Hyler Ritter, a well-respected pianist and vocal coach, is director of Songfest.
