Intercollegiate Horse Show Association
The IHSA is the national governing body for team equestrian competition. The Pepperdine Equestrian Team competes in Zone 8 Region 2. Other schools in our region include: USC, USD, UC Irvine, UCSD, Cal Poly Pomona, and the University of Arizona.
Riders are judged upon their equitation and horsemanship. At a horse show, each rider draws a random horse and must be able to immediately mount that horse for their class. Team members will practice on a of variety horses to prepare for competitions.
