Club Sports: Men's Lacrosse
The men's lacrosse team has been established at Pepperdine for over 25 years. Our team has been comprised of many different experience levels. The team is a great opportunity for advanced and non-experienced players to play and compete at the collegiate level. Time commitment is minimal, but the time we do have is imperative to our success. The team is student-run and therefore, also offers many leadership opportunities. We do seek to give leadership positions to new recruits. Eligibility requirements include enrollment in a minimum of 12.0 units and a minimum G.P.A. of 2.0 at Pepperdine University.
We compete in the Southern Lacrosse Conference (SLC) against club teams from other universities in the area and throughout California including UCLA, USC, UCI, Occidental and Biola. Our season is in the spring. We have a full 16-week season including playoffs and nationals (if we are eligible). We do have fall practices and we will compete in several tournaments and scrimmages. We will have several home games at Alumni Park throughout the year and a number of away matches at various universities.
In the 2009-2010 year, our goal is to be a major contender in our league and we believe we will have the talent to do so. We expect players to be committed to the team and to be hard-working individuals in order for us to achieve this goal. Our practice throughout the fall will be a great time to improve any skills that need work so that we will be strong competitors in the spring.
We will be announcing practice times for the fall and spring shortly. Games are primarily on weekends and practices take place throughout the week.
