Club Sports: Surfing

The surf club is a team that competes in the Southwest College Team Division of the National Scholastic Surfing Association (www.nssa.org).  There are six shortboard divisions, two female divisions and one longboard division.  The surf team also competes in the Volcom Qualifying Series (VQS).  Competitions take place throughout the year at various locations in Southern California.  If you want to compete in surfing, this is the club for you. No competitive experience is necessary to try out for the team.

Other events include beach barbeques, weekend surf trips and at least one surf trip per semester to somewhere outside of LA county (viva la Mexico!).  We also plan trips to Hawaii or Costa Rica over breaks.

The Pepperdine Surf Club is committed to promoting not only the sport of surfing within the Pepperdine student body but also respect for the ocean and the beautiful beaches where our activities take place.
