2009 Season Results
A-League
A-League Basketball has been played every Monday night this semester. Eighteen teams participated in the best basketball league offered at Pepperdine. Sixteen teams made the playoffs and after two stunning upsets in the semi-finals, we saw # 5 West Coast All Stars playing # 7 seed We Fly Cinco in the championship. This placed a running, fast paced team against a smart, methodical team in the finals which was sure to be interesting. West Coast All Stars jumped out to an early lead but We Fly Cinco stuck to their strategy in a physical game and slowly came back. They were able to pull away in the second half, giving We Fly Cinco the A-League Basketball Intramural Championship!!!
Members of We Fly Cinco: Jordan Holm, Matt Dougherty, Joe Randolph, Mason Rudy, Hunter Stanfield, Blake Clardy, Mac Jacobs
B-League
B-League Basketball also consisted of eighteen teams, making basketball our most popular intramural sport. In the championship was # 2 seed Ballaholics vs # 4 seed Sneaky Hot Hall of Fame. The game was close throughout was the best offensive team in the league was put against the best defensive team. After a missed shot by Sneaky Hot Hall of Fame at the buzzer, the game went to overtime. Sneaky Hot Hall of Fame was up by two points when a player on the Ballaholics was fouled with no time left. He missed his free throws, giving the Sneaky Hot Hall of Fame the B-League Basketball Championship!!!
Members of Sneaky Hot Hall of Fame: Stephen Fiamengo, Derek Sedam, Mike Smith, Matt Poland, Brenden Rhead, Stephen Scotti, Jason Driscoll
C-League
Co-ed Basketball was a league of four teams, in which every team made the playoffs. It was a great league always with close games and no forfeits. The championship was between the undefeated # 1 seed Negotiators vs. # 2 seed Chinpokomon All Stars. The Negotiators had the lead early but the Chinpokomon All Stars came back late. They were able to pull of the upset, making the Chinpokomon All Stars the Co-ed Basketball Intramural Champions!!!
Members of Chinpokomon All Stars: AJ Couvrette, Matt Gaglia, Mitchell Giorgi, Tiara Dole, Mariah Deal, Scott Miller, Jon Daniels, Andrew Clark, Tony Simeone
