Pepperdine Endows Christian Scholars’ Lecture in Memory of Frank and Della Pack

Ed Biggers, chair, Pepperdine University Board of Regents, shares reflections of the life and ministry of Frank and Della Pack during a celebration luncheon honoring their memory during the 2014 Christian Scholars’ Conference.

Pepperdine University announced the endowment of the Frank and Della Pack Plenary Lecture during a celebratory luncheon that it hosted on June 6, 2014 at the Thomas H. Olbricht Christian Scholar’s Conference, held at Lipscomb University. The Lecture will be a permanent addition to the annual conference.

During the luncheon honoring the memory of the beloved couple, both former Pepperdine professors, Dr. Jerry Rushford shared a brief history of Frank Pack’s life and ministry. Pepperdine Regents, Edwin Biggers and Sheila Bost, shared their personal reflections of Frank and Della’s ministry at the Culver Palms Church of Christ. Randy Lowry, president of Lipscomb University, and Rhonda Lowry, Lipscomb professor and presidential spouse, described the influence this couple had on their personal, spiritual, and professional lives.

The event concluded with the presentation of a short video clip of Frank Pack’s lecture at the 1986 Pepperdine Bible Lectures entitled “Hallelujah! What a Savior!”

The inaugural Frank and Della Pack lecturer was Lamin Sanneh, the D. Willis James Professor of Missions and World Christianity at Yale Divinity School and Professor of History & International & Area Studies at Yale University.
