| Type: Preacher Salary: Description: The Big Sky Church of Christ in East Helena, Montana, is a small, start-up congregation in a bedroom community to the capitol city of Montana. Helena is a progressive, medium-sized town of approximately thirty thousand people in a scenic, stunning location that offers world-class outdoor recreational opportunities. In a list compiled by Caldwell Banker Realty Inc. and published in USA Weekend.com (July 2009: http://bit.ly/2eIvgD), our community was rated the #1 best small American city in which to retire because of its reasonable cost of living, affordable housing, community, and recreational amenities. Our group is seeking a preacher/minister that is especially adept and interested in all aspects of church planting. The level of education in our group is high, so a person with at least a Bachelors Degree in biblical or theological studies is preferred. A person with an advanced degree is likely to be an even better fit, though all candidates with a suitable level of education and experience will be given serious consideration. Collectively, our members possess an extraordinary level of commitment and ministerial gifts and capabilities. You would be hard pressed to find such a talented start-up group anywhere. The launch team is already in place. This is a church plant waiting for a visionary leader to guide it. This is a blank slate, free from the bondage of traditionalism. This is a group that loves the Restoration plea, and wants to see how it can be applied in today's terms. We have received a commitment from a large congregation in Alabama to assist in providing an appropriate salary commensurate with the selected candidate's education/experience because our current small size constrains the financial support that we can provide alone. Our goal is to grow to the point where we can be financially self supporting within a few years. We especially encourage applications from anyone with an interest in vocational ministry, or from those who might like to pursue graduate studies while working as a part-time minister. This is a congregation with the capacity to financially, spiritually, emotionally and ministerially support the right individual. We are willing to develop creative solutions to enable someone to come to our community who can share, work, and grow with us. Please send application materials, including resume and the contact information for three references to Big Sky Church of Christ, P.O. Box 1579, East Helena, MT 59635, or email materials to Mark Wilson at rmwilson53@gmail.com |

| Church: Howell Church of Christ Address: 1385 W. Grand River, P. O. Box 82 City: Howell State: MI Zip Code: 48844 Country: USA |
Contact Person: Howell Church of Christ Phone: 517-546-1931 Phone2: Fax: Email: howcoc@sbcglobal.net Website: www.howellchurchofchrist.com |
| Type: Pulpit Salary: $35,000-$48,000 Description: The Howell Church of Christ is seeking an Evangelist to partner with us in building up the kingdom in Southeast Michigan. As with any community, there is some diversity of viewpoint, but in the balance Howell is a theologically moderate congregation within the spectrum of acappella churches of Christ. We attempt to honor God by discerning the difference between doctrine and tradition, then adhere to doctrine and respect tradition. We are currently without an eldership, being led by an appointed team of five men who provide spiritual direction in the areas of fellowship, outreach, benevolence, congregational worship, education. Everyday business matters are handled by an elected group of "trustees" that answer to the congregation and leadership team. Our current average weekly attendance is about 123. We have a mix of blue collar and professional families. Our adult makeup tends to be heavy in the 30 somethings to 70 somethings. We have some healthy families, we have some struggling families. Balancing the demands of jobs, home life, school, youth sports, church activities can be a challenge for us. The city of Howell is a town of about 9600, serving a county-wide population of roughly 90,000. As we are located less than 45 minutes from the state capital of Lansing, Ann Arbor with the University of Michigan, and the greater Detroit metro area, a large percentage of the population commutes to work. Given our location, the local economy is heavily dependent upon the Big Three automakers. Currently the region is pinched economically (unemployment around 11.8%, lower than the majority of Michigan counties). Our weekly offering has suffered, but our income has still been greater than our expenses. We have no indebtedness. The church facilities are located on slightly less than 2 acres across the street from the Howell High School. We also own 20 acres outside of town that may one day serve as a site for a new building. Our building can seat 170 people. We have 7 classrooms not counting the auditorium. We are looking for a married man of God who is especially gifted in mentoring, motivating, and encouraging. We prefer he has at least three years experience in working with a congregation in the capacity of an Evangelist/Preaching minister. A degree is not necessary, manifesting a mature knowledge of the Word and a godly life that reflects the indwelling of the Spirit is. As with all our members who might work with our youth in any capacity (e.g. teaching a high school class, going to a youth rally), the prospective Evangelist must undergo a criminal background check in keeping with our Child Protection Policy. With the greatest care for confidentiality, we also reserve the right to obtain a credit report on the individual we offer the position to. (P.S. Need to be able to handle cold and snow!) Depending upon the experience level of the Evangelist, Howell will offer a salary range of from $35,000 to $48,000. We will work with the Evangelist to proportion the Salary/Benefits package according to his preferences and IRS requirements with regard to take home pay, an accountable expense reimbursement plan, a health plan, retirement plan, parsonage allowance. The church provides a 3 bedroom, 2.5 bath house with full basement less than a mile from the building in a quiet neighborhood. If the Evangelist does not want to take advantage of the parsonage, other living arrangements can be discussed. We will also provide 4 weeks paid vacation and 1 paid week to attend a lectureship or seminar each employment year. Interested individuals should submit a resume, references, and at least two sermons on either DVD, VHS, CD, Tape, MP3. Please also let us know if it is okay to contact your present congregation (understanding that discretion must be observed in these matters). Applications will be accepted up to the end of the year or until the position is closed. They may be submitted online to howcoc@sbcglobal.net or via "snail mail" to: ATTN Search Committee Howell Church of Christ P. O. |
