The Center for Estate and Gift Planning
Donor Recognition
Pepperdine University thrives today as a quality, affordable institution of higher education because of the generous support of friends. The University’s continued quest for excellence is dependent on the generosity of donors.
Pepperdine places a high priority on recognizing donors for their financial support. All revocable and irrevocable planned gifts qualify for membership in either the Heritage Society or George Pepperdine Society. Irrevocable Planned gifts up to $100,000 and all revocable planned gifts are recognized through membership in the Heritage Society, and planned gifts in excess of $100,000 are recognized through the George Pepperdine Society.
The Heritage Society
The Heritage Society was established to honor alumni and friends who made provisions for Pepperdine in their wills or family trust, or through another type of planned gift. While the society is relatively new, planned giving to Pepperdine is not. It is the foundation upon which the University is built. The society has 413 members as of July, 2009.
Membership is available to those who:
- Include Pepperdine as a beneficiary in his/her will or family trust
- Name Pepperdine as the owner and/or beneficiary of a life insurance policy
- Name Pepperdine as a beneficiary of a life income gift (a remainder trust, gift annuity, or lead trust)
- Make a gift of a personal residence or farm to Pepperdine with a life estate reserved.
Pepperdine is Pepperdine because George Pepperdine had the foresight and great expectations for the college he cared for, as well as a keen sense of how to manage his assets to ensure his family's financial well being.
The Heritage Society recognizes those who make planned gifts to Pepperdine in many ways. If you have planned an estate or life income gift to benefit Pepperdine University, we would be honored to add you to the rolls of the Heritage Society. Please fill out the estate intention form and return it to us as indicated.
