The Diane and Guilford Glazer Institute for Jewish Studies
The central mission of the Diane and Guilford Glazer Institute for Jewish Studies is expressed in the mandate of Micah 6:8 that calls us “to do justice, to love mercy, and to walk humbly with your God.”
This religious calling—shared by all children of Abraham—reflects a fervent call to serve the cause of human rights and social justice, to show mercy toward the weak and the oppressed, and to display humility, tolerance, and yet deep commitment in one’s own faith journey.
Most important, the goal of the Glazer Institute is to pursue reconciliation of the children of Abraham through understanding, dialogue and engagement. This pursuit requires fidelity to one’s own religious tradition, while honoring the rich heritage and deep insights of other religious traditions.
