Endowment Pool A
Pool A is the actively managed portfolio of the University’s endowment. It is made up of accounts that have been pooled together, much like a mutual fund, so that assets can be invested and monitored more effectively. Pool A includes true endowment funds as well as other unrestricted assets functioning as quasi-endowments. The Pool distributes 5% annually based on the fair market value of a 5-year moving average. This spending policy helps smooth out market fluctuations and provides a stable and growing income stream to support designated campus activities.
The Investment Committee of the Board of Regents oversees the endowment and all other university investments. It is responsible for setting investment policy and guidelines, asset allocation targets and endowment spending. The Office of Investment Management oversees all investment activities on a daily basis utilizing outside investment managers when necessary.
