Graziadio School Presents DineEquity Chair and CEO Julia Stewart
Julia Stewart, chair and CEO of DineEquity, Inc., comes to the Graziadio School of Business and Management on Tuesday, Jan. 20, as the first Dean's Executive Leadership Series speaker of 2009. The evening begins with a reception at 5:30 p.m., followed by the lecture presentation at 6:30 p.m. in the Drescher Graduate Campus auditorium.
Stewart, a 35-year veteran of the foodservice industry, serves as chair and CEO of DineEquity, Inc., which operates restaurants under the Applebee's Neighborhood Grill & Bar and IHOP brands. In November 2007, Stewart led DineEquity's acquisition of Applebee's International, Inc., creating the largest full service restaurant company in the world with more than 3,300 locations. Prior to joining DineEquity, she served as president of the domestic division of Applebee's International, Inc. and held several key executive positions with Taco Bell Corporation. She is a member of the board of directors of Avery Dennison and a trustee of the California Science Center Foundation.
