Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim Chair Dennis Kuhl Closes 2011-12 Dean's Executive Leadership Series

Dennis Kuhl, chair of the Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim, will close the Graziadio School of Business and Management's Dean's Executive Leadership Series on Tuesday, Apr. 24. Following a 5:30 p.m. reception, Kuhl’s presentation will begin at 6:30 p.m. at the Diamond Club at Angel Stadium in Anaheim. Register here.

This year marks Dennis Kuhl's ninth year with the Angels after joining the professional baseball club in 2003. He was initially appointed as the Angels seventh president before being promoted to team chair on November 14, 2009.

Kuhl continues to oversee the administration and day-to-day operations, along with a renewed effort in the area of civic affairs and community outreach. Under his leadership, the Angels have shown growth and advancement in key business initiatives, including sponsorship and marketing revenues, the nationwide expansion and marketing of the Angels brand, an upsurge in attendance (the Angels have topped the 3-million plateau for nine straight seasons) and increased broadcasting revenue through television and radio partnerships. Kuhl also played a key role in working with Major League Baseball when the Angels hosted the 2010 All-Star Game.

In addition, Kuhl is actively involved in several Southern California charities. He serves as the president of the "Light the Night" Event which supports the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society, and is a founding board member of The Pacific Club IMPACT Foundation/Lott Trophy. Kuhl works with Susan G. Komen for the Cure as one of their "Pink Tie Guys," which is a select group of advocates speaking out to find a cure for breast cancer. He also serves on the Board of Governor at Chapman University, along with the Board of Directors for five nonprofits: the Los Angeles Sports Council, Boys and Girls Club of Anaheim, Newport Sports Museum, One Mission Foundation and the Tiger Woods Foundation. A Boonton, New Jersey native, Kuhl graduated from the University of Arizona in 1970 with a degree in business administration.

Event attendees can enter the DELS raffle for a chance to win an Apple iPad2 gift certificate or a relaxing weekend in Malibu at the Villa Graziadio. All attendees will receive a complimentary 20 percent discount coupon for a one or two nights stay at the Villa.

The Dean's Executive Leadership Series brings leading business practitioners and thought leaders to Pepperdine University to discuss real-world challenges and opportunities facing the business community today. Held each fall and spring, the series was created in Spring 2004 to help support the Graziadio School of Business and Management's mission to provide business knowledge that is applied and relevant.
