Palmer Center Hosts Micro-Enterprise Program Graduation
The Geoffrey H. Palmer Center for Entrepreneurship and the Law will host the Micro-Enterprise Program graduation ceremony Thursday, Apr. 19, at 4 p.m. at the Villa Graziadio Executive Center, Malibu.
Over the past several months, prospective entrepreneurs selected from the residents at the Union Rescue Mission, Hope Gardens, and Upward Bound House have participated in a 24-week business training session. They learned the basic principles of financial management, marketing, accounting, business planning, and accountability from Pepperdine faculty, alumni, and friends.
Students from the School of Law, Graziadio School of Business and Management, Seaver College, and Graduate School of Education and Psychology participated as Teaching Fellows for the instructional component and served as coaches for the entrepreneurs for the year-long duration of the program. Additionally, members of the business and legal communities served as mentors.
After many hours of training, coaching, and planning, several hard-working and hopeful entrepreneurs have emerged with viable business plans. On April 19, these entrepreneurs will present their business plans to members of the community and Pepperdine University stakeholders including students, faculty, and staff.
Register to attend this event on the Palmer Center Web site. For more information, contact Samantha Ellis at (310) 506-4681.
