Pepperdine Participates in 41st Annual Malibu Arts Festival
The Malibu Arts Festival, produced by the Malibu Chamber of Commerce, will celebrate its 41st year with a two-day event that will take place Saturday, Jul. 28, to Sunday, Jul. 29, from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. in front of the Malibu Civic Center.
Local Malibu artists, including Nick Rodionoff, head coach of the Pepperdine women's swimming and diving team, will be featured alongside over 200 award-winning painters, sculptors, photographers, jewelers, and other unique artisans and businesses highlighted at the event. This year will mark Rodionoff's 40th year participating in the annual festival, where he will display photographs documenting iconic places along the Malibu coastline.
A Malibu resident for 34 years, Rodionoff photographs sunsets, seascapes, landscapes, wildlife, and the mesmerizing Malibu surf. His work has appeared in Outdoor Photographer, Surfer, and Los Angeles magazines, as well as the book Malibu: California's Most Famous Seaside Community, authored by longtime Malibu resident Marian Hall.
Festivalgoers will also have the opportunity to visit with the artists under individual tents and learn about the creation of art in every genre. Alongside the artists, members of the Chamber of Commerce and Pepperdine's various offices will share and promote their businesses in the Chamber Village section.
The Arts Festival will also include an entertainment stage, where musicians will perform each day, as well as a food truck terrace and wine garden featuring Malibu wines. Chalk artists will bring art in action throughout the weekend and the Malibu library will host a children's reading corner.
