“We Give Thanks:” Pepperdine Hosts Thanksgiving Service

The Office of the Chaplain at Pepperdine will host a special Thanksgiving lunch and service Monday, Nov. 19, to honor the holiday of gratitude and praise. The event will begin at 12 noon in Waves Café, Malibu.

University Chaplain David Lemley will present a devotional on the theme "We Give Thanks," while the Genesis Gospel Choir and the University Choir will perform musical reflections and celebrations for the day.

Lemley has served as University Chaplain since 2007. Prior to that, he coordinated youth, campus, and worship ministries, and taught as adjunct professor of religion at Pepperdine. He received his B.A. in Religion from Pepperdine, an M.A. in History and Theology from Abilene Christian University, and an M.Div at Fuller Theological Seminary. He is currently a Ph.D. candidate in Worship and Culture at Fuller. Lemley's ministry experience and training in pastoral care, worship, and spirituality reflect his desire to provide the Pepperdine community opportunities to discern and respond to God's presence among us.
