ABC Executive Jana Winograde Continues Graziadio School’s Dean’s Executive Leadership Series

The Graziadio School of Business and Management’s 2012-13 Dean’s Executive Leadership Series will continue Thursday, Nov. 15, with a lecture from Jana Winograde, executive vice president of business affairs and administration for ABC Entertainment Group. The event will begin with a reception at 5:30 p.m. before the lecture begins at 6:30 p.m., at the Disney Studios in Burbank, Calif.  

Winograde was named to her position in June 2009, where she oversees the general business related to the development and acquisition of all primetime, daytime and late-night programming, marketing and ABC.com, including overseeing all deals and agreements related thereto. Additionally, she provides business oversight of the development and production of network, cable and syndicated programming and the licensing of such programming to distributors and exhibitors. She also oversees the business elements of the music department, which sets music policy and handles music licensing and administration.

Previously, Winograde was executive vice president of business affairs for ABC Entertainment, ABC Daytime, and SOAPnet, a position she held from December 2006.

Winograde joined ABC in January 1994 as an assistant general attorney for Litigation and Employment Practices. She was promoted to general attorney of legal and business affairs, production, and multimedia, as well as general attorney of law and regulation, in January 1995. In August 1996, she was named director of business affairs and contracts at ABC Entertainment.

Prior to joining ABC, she was an associate at Munger, Tolles & Olson. Born and raised in California, Winograde is a graduate of Boalt Hall School of Law at the University of California at Berkeley, and holds a bachelor of arts degree in sociology from the University of California, San Diego.

Each year, the Dean's Executive Leadership Series at Graziadio brings leading business practitioners and thought leaders to one of Pepperdine University's campuses to discuss real-world challenges and opportunities facing the business community today.
