Graziadio School Student Groups Host “How to Start a Nonprofit”
MBA Women International, Net Impact, and the Entrepreneurship Society at the Graziadio School of Business and Management will advise socially conscious entrepreneurs on “How to Start Up a Nonprofit” Thursday, Nov. 8, at 12 noon, in Room P1 at the Drescher Graduate Campus, Malibu.
MBA Women International is dedicated to empowering women and propelling them to leadership positions within the community and increasing the diversity in the workforce. The Pepperdine chapter of MBA Women seeks opportunities to develop women's professional careers in an increasingly competitive and dynamic corporate climate. MBA Women provides networking opportunities with fellow MBA students, Pepperdine alumni and MBA Women members across the nation through the annual National Conference & Career Fair. Net Impact is a global leadership organization committed to nurturing an extensive and influential network of current and future business visionaries who believe in making a profit while affecting a positive social and environmental change. Pepperdine Net Impact Chapter aims to create an added competitive advantage for the students by providing practical tools and knowledge on how to maximize positive business impact. It is a platform for business innovation and unique networking opportunities. Pepperdine Net Impact Chapter hosts renowned speakers, hands-on workshops, networking events, company tours and provides an opportunity to attend the annual National Net Impact Conference. Chapter members closely collaborate with Pepperdine's Certificate in Socially, Environmentally, and Ethically Responsible (SEER) Business Strategy, a nationally renowned program for its robust curriculum and the annual SEER Symposium featuring industry leaders and other executive level speakers.
The goal of the Entrepreneurship Society is to harness the entrepreneurial spirit and inspire creativity throughout the Pepperdine community. The group meets on a regular basis to discuss start-up opportunities, hear from guest speakers and encourage one another in pursuing their entrepreneurial ventures. The Society hosts a variety of events throughout the year including the annual Business Plan Competition where students compete for prize money to fund their start-up ventures. The Entrepreneurship Society also hosts the Entrepreneur's Journey, a two-day event of Keynote Speakers and Panel Discussions. The event culminates with finalists from the Business Plan Competition pitching their ideas to a panel of distinguished judges and venture capitalists.
