Straus Institute Conference Explores How to Rescue Relationships With Apology and Forgiveness
The School of Law’s Straus Institute for Dispute Resolution will host a conference on Friday, Nov. 2, titled “Rescuing Relationships: Apology, Forgiveness, and Reconciliation.” Cosponsored by the Pepperdine Dispute Resolution Law Journal, the event will take place from 9 a.m. at the School of Law, Malibu.
Three keynote speakers will address the attendees: David Lerman, general counsel at Kaiser Permanente; Eileen Barker, author; and Susan Daicoff, professor at the Phoenix School of Law.
The conference will also feature two panel discussions about apology and forgiveness. Sitting on the apology panel will be: Nick Smith, associate professor at the University of New Hampshire; Calvin Sharpe, Galen J. Roush Professor in Business Law and Regulation at the Western Reserve University School of Law; Lee Taft of Taft Solutions; and Sam Edwards, associate professor at Green Mountain College.
Sitting on the panel discussion of forgiveness will be Ken Cloke, director of the Center for Dispute Resolution and Solangel Maldonado, professor at the Seton Hall Law School.
