Pepperdine University Closes Historic 75th Anniversary Year with Founder’s Day Celebration

The Pepperdine community will commemorate the historic 2012 Founder's Day Wednesday, Sept. 19, beginning at 10 a.m. with an audience of loyal alumni, devoted board members, friends, faculty, staff, and the next generation of Pepperdine Waves who honor our founder's motto, "Freely ye received, freely give" (Matthew 10:8).

Each year, this special event honors the vision of the University's founder, George Pepperdine; affirms Pepperdine's mission; and declares the opening of the new academic year.

Events will commence with a processional and program presented at Firestone Fieldhouse, Malibu, including a reading of George Pepperdine's dedicatory remarks from 1937. A celebration luncheon will follow at Alumni Park. Closing the commemorative day will be the unveiling and dedication of the "Dolores" statue at Adamson Plaza.
