Alumnus Ryan Sawtellle Discusses How to Start a Nonprofit at Fifth Annual Career Week
Want to start your own nonprofit? At the fifth annual Pepperdine Career Week, alumnus Ryan Sawtelle (’09) will share his experiences in founding and managing his nonprofit, White Heart Foundation, Thursday, Feb. 7, at 6 p.m. in Plaza Classroom 188, Malibu. This event is sponsored by Waves of Service.
The young businessman, who graduated with a bachelor's degree in economics with an emphasis on nonprofit management, will also discuss the steps that college students can take to start their own successful nonprofit. A Q&A will follow the presentation.
While at Pepperdine, Sawtelle created and launched Waves of Flags, a dramatic display of flags commemorating the lives lost on 9/11. In addition to his achievements at Pepperdine, Ryan has worked with a number of start-up and established nonprofit organizations.
The fifth annual Pepperdine Career Week, open to all Pepperdine University students and alumni, will take place Monday, Feb. 4, to Saturday, Feb. 9, at five Pepperdine campuses across Southern California as well as online sessions
Career Week offers a series of activities and programs for students preparing to make the transition from classroom to career and alumni seeking a competitive advantage in the workplace.
