Pianist Steven Lin, who made his debut with the New York Philharmonic at the age of 13, will perform a sold-out show at Raitt Recital Hall, Malibu, on Sunday, Nov. 10, at 2 p.m.
Lin's Pepperdine performance program will include Robert Schumann's Kinderszenen, Op. 15, and Sonata No. 3 in F Minor, Op. 14; Beethoven's Sonata No. 18 in E-flat Major, Op. 31, No. 3; and Liszt's Réminiscences de Don Juan.
Lin was accepted at the age of 10 on full scholarship into the Julliard Pre-College Division. He twice won the Julliard Pre-College Piano Competition, made his debut, and has since performed in noted concert halls around the world, such as the Louvre and Salle Cortot in France, National Dublin Hall in Ireland, Seoul Arts Center in Korea, Sendai Cultural Center in Japan, and Avery Fisher Hall in the United States. Now in his early twenties, Lin has already completed both his Bachelor's and his Master's degrees, and plans to, in 2013, pursue his Performance Diploma from the Curtis Institute of Music.
