International award-winning pianist Adam Golka will perform piano classics at Raitt Recital Hall Sunday, Jan. 12, at 2 p.m.
Golka's performance will include Lutoslawski's Folk Melodies (1945), Bartók's Two Romanian Dances, and Beethoven's Sonata No. 31 in A-flat Major, as well as works by Haydn, Michael Brown, and Brahms.
With his "brilliant technique and real emotional depth" (The Washington Post), this pianist has won widespread critical and popular acclaim in a relatively short time. He has garnered international prizes, including the 2008 Gilmore Young Artist Award, first prize in the 2003 China Shanghai International Piano Competition, and the 2009 Max I. Allen Classical Fellowship Award of the American Pianists Association.
