David Levy has extensive experience as a teacher, therapist, writer, and researcher. He holds licenses in psychology and in marriage and family therapy, and is actively involved in clinical practice and consultation. He earned his doctorate in social psychology, he served as a visiting professor of psychology at Leningrad State University, and has been teaching graduate courses at Pepperdine since 1986.
Levy co-authored Cross-Cultural Psychology: Critical Thinking and Contemporary Applications, which has become the international best-selling text on cross-cultural psychology and critical thinking. His book, Tools of Critical Thinking: Metathoughts for Psychology, garnered widespread acclaim and won the endorsements of some of the nation's most prominent psychologists. Utilizing his sense of humor, he is also the author of numerous satirical psychology articles.
In his featured appearances on more than 70 television and radio programs (including CBS, CNN, NBC, PBS, NPR, Fox, A&E, and E!), Levy has provided psychological perspectives on current events and has examined issues, problems, and trends in the mental health fields.
