Dean Baim is an internationally recognized expert on the financing of professional sports venues and their economic benefits. He has also spoken widely on the economic impact of the Olympics, post-games use of Olympic venues, the impact of professional sports on the economy and employment, and private ownership incentives in professional sports.

Baim received his master's and doctoral degrees in economics from the University of California, Los Angeles. He has been honored as a Harriet and Charles Luckman Distinguished Teaching Fellow and Pepperdine University Professor of the Year.
