Michael Feltner is the associate editor of Medicine and Science in Sports & Exercise and is on the editorial board of the Journal of Applied Biomechanics. He is also a reviewer for the Journal of Biomechanics and the Journal of Sport Science. At Pepperdine, he directed the development of a new Biomechanics/Motor Behavior Research Laboratory in the Department of Sports Medicine and Physical Education.

Feltner was interviewed on CBS' newsmagazine show, 48 Hours, regarding the preparation of athletes for the Olympics and has served as an expert witness and consultant on several legal cases involving the biomechanics of injuries and biomechanical aspects of alleged patent infringements. He was a certified athletic trainer for more than ten years and an assistant athletic trainer for the Cincinnati Reds baseball team for two years.
