David Homes is the author of Revisiting Racialized Voice: African American Ethos in Language and Literature and numerous articles. He is currently completing a monograph that reconstructs the rhetorical narratives of the Birmingham Mass Meetings in 1963, tentatively titled:"The Half Has Not Been Told": Recovering the Rhetoric of the Birmingham Mass Meetings.
Holmes is a member of the Birmingham Historical Society, the National Council of Teachers of English and the International Society for the History of Rhetoric. He received his doctorate from the University of Southern California.
