Some of John Jones' most recent articles include: Recasting the American Dream and American Politics: Barack Obama's Keynote Address to the Democratic National Convention; Reagan at the Brandenburg Gate: Moral Clarity Tempered by Pragmatism; and Until Next Week: What the Saturday Radio Addresses of Ronald Reagan Reveal about His Legacy.

Immediately after former President Regan's death, Jones appeared on both KCAL 9 news and KNX 1070 News Radio to discuss the former president's legacy. A member of the National Communication Association Political Division, Jones is also a reviewer for Texas A&M Press, Rhetoric and Public Affairs, and the National Communication Association Public Address Division. He received his master's and doctoral degrees in communication studies from the University of Kansas.
