Keli Finnerty-Myers, Ph.D. is a professor in the Communication Division at Pepperdine University. She has extensively researched the influence that exposure to sexual media messages can have on adolescents and young adults. She studies how these messages can affect the sexual beliefs, attitudes and behaviors of young people. Keli has also published research findings on the current sexual messages found in entertainment television programming. In light of her research findings, Keli enjoys helping parents and youths become more media-savvy. She speaks on the effects of television, music, new technologies (e.g., text messaging, social networking websites) and video games, among other things, on young people and their families.

Prior to becoming a professor, Michael Murrie had a successful career in broadcast journalism including positions as news producer and assignment editor for major market television newscasts, where he produced more than 1,000 newscasts as well as news specials and feature segments.

He has written more than 100 articles in television and journalism professional publications including Broadcasting & Cable, RTNDA Communicator, Television Broadcast, Columbia Journalism Review and Quill. In 1985, Murrie received an Emmy for Best News Broadcast from the St. Louis Chapter of the National Academy of Television Arts and Sciences.
