Mars Hill Audio, August 27, 2007 – Doug Kmiec, Caruso Family Chair in Constitutional Law, appeared as a featured commentator in a special podcast titled "Dialogues on Justice and Judges: Jurisprudence and The Roberts Court," which includes interviews with four legal experts who give an initial assessment of the tenure of Chief Justice John Roberts, looking specifically at the Court’s exercise of restraint. Ventura County Star, August 26, 2007 – Connie Horton, director of the counseling center, was quoted in an article titled "When Youngest Child Leaves, Parents are Often Left With Mixed Feelings and Changing Roles, Experts Say," about the grieving process parents often go through when the last child leaves home. Los Angeles Times, August 23, 2007 – Ken Starr, Duane and Kelly Roberts Dean of Pepperdine School of Law, was quoted in an article titled "Giulliani: A Bold Flair Early," which describes presidential candidate Rudy Giulliani’s early career as an attorney in the Justice Department, where he was eager to prosecute criminals.

Puget Sound Business Journal, August 23, 2007 – John Mooney, associate dean of academic programs at the Graziadio School of Business and Management, was quoted in an article titled "Executive MBA Programs Just Keep Expanding," which describes the motivation of many business schools nationwide to widen MBA offerings to include Executive MBA programs, an option which has been long-offered through the Graziadio School.

KCAA 1050 AM, August 22, 2007 – Ken Starr, Duane and Kelly Roberts Dean of Pepperdine School of Law, appeared as an on-air guest for the program Insight with Brian Oxman to discuss the status of capitol punishment in California, and around the country, with hosts Brian Oxman and Kathryn Milofsky. Slam Sports, August 21, 2007 – Seaver College sophomore and women’s basketball player Miranda Ayim was featured in an article titled "Teen Reaches High in Basketball," about her successful freshman year on the Pepperdine team and excitement about the new year. Sporting News, August 20, 2007 – Vance Walberg, head coach of the Pepperdine men's basketball team, was featured in an article titled "Pepperdine's Offense is a Recruiting Tool, Too," about the role that Walberg’s unique offensive play strategy is having in his recruiting success. East Bay Business Times, August 10, 2007 – Paul Pinckley, executive director of student recruitment and full-time programs at the Graziadio School of Business and Management, was quoted in an article titled "State Expands Efforts to Attract More Foreign Students," about the Education & Training Export Consortium which is intended to organize marketing abroad to recruit international students.

Los Angeles Times/Washington Post News Service, August 10, 2007 – Gary Galles, professor of economics, wrote an op-ed titled "The Economics of Back-to-School Shopping," about the differences in how parents and children perceive the economic value of new clothing versus its price. The op-ed was reprinted in The Buffalo News, The Baltimore Sun, Oakland Tribune, and Newark Star Ledger, among other publications.

Ventura County Star, August 9, 2007 – Mike Hornbuckle, a Seaver College junior and men’s basketball player, was quoted and featured in an article titled "Hornbuckle Getting His Game up to Speed This Summer," about Hornbuckle’s upcoming return to college basketball at Pepperdine following his transfer from Azusa Pacific University. Fox News.com, August 8, 2007 – The recent William French Smith Lecture hosted by Ken Starr, Duane and Kelly Roberts Dean of Pepperdine School of Law, and Doug Kmiec, Caruso Family Chair in Constitutional Law, was favorably reviewed in a column by democratic commentator Susan Estrich titled "Romney Makes Radio Pundit Look Like A Rummy" in which she discusses the importance of the rule of law, respect for the Constitution, and the Supreme Court. The Cary News (North Carolina), August 7, 2007 – Eric Shriver, a Seaver College junior and member of the men’s golf team, was quoted and featured in an article titled "Shriver Survives, Advances to U.S. Amateur," about his qualification for play at the 107th U.S. Amateur in San Francisco. San Francisco Chronicle, August 6, 2007 – The School of Public Policy was noted in an article titled "An Experiment in Healthy Debate," whose February 2007 conference, cohosted with nonprofit organization Common Sense California, inspired an August 11 statewide event during which attendees brainstormed on creative ways to improve public involvement in complex political issues in California. Christian Science Monitor, July 27, 2007 – Doug Kmiec, Caruso Family Chair in Constitutional Law, was quoted in an article titled "Bid to Punish Bush Aides May Fail," about a decision by the House Judiciary Committee to cite two top presidential aides with criminal contempt for their refusal to answer questions under oath about their role in an executive privilege matter.

Bozeman Daily Chronicle, July 20, 2007 – Christopher Parkening, Distinguished Professor of Music, was featured in an article titled "Master’s Class," about his love of classical guitar and the master classes he has taught at Montana State University.

Tidings, June 29, 2007 – Doug Kmiec, Caruso Family Chair in Constitutional Law, wrote an op-ed titled "Immigration Reform: A Matter of Reason and Faith," in which he argues that the United States needs to adopt an "earned path to freedom" in order to best serve our native citizens, and those who wish to work for a better life inside our borders.

Wall Street Journal, August 8, 2007 – Data about the growth of Seattle manufacturing employment rates provided by Mike Shires, associate professor of public policy, was discussed in an article titled “The Myth of Deindustrialization,” which decries the notion that manufacturing in the United States has all but died. C-SPAN, August 7, 2007 – Ken Starr, dean of the School of Law; Doug Kmiec, Caruso Family Chair in Constitutional Law; Carter Phillips of the law firm Sidley Austin; and U.S. Supreme Court Justice and Distinguished Visiting Professor Samuel Alito discussed deliberation and advocacy at the inaugural William French Smith Lecture, which aired live on August 7 and was rebroadcast on the program America and the Courts on August 11. Conde Nast Portfolio, July 31, 2007 – Linda Livingstone, dean of the Graziadio School of Business and Management, was quoted in an article titled "Who Likes Sarbanes Oxley?" which discusses a recent survey of investors conducted by the Graziadio School about the legislation that made corporate financial reporting requirements stricter. Abilene Reporter News, July 31, 2007 – Jim Gash, associate dean for student life at the School of Law, was profiled in an article titled “Fact, Not Fiction, at the Scene,” about his recent role in a Spike TV reality-show titled Murder, an unscripted program that drops average citizens into a crime scene and challenges them to find the killer in 48 hours. Radio Egypt, July 30, 2007 – Khalil Jahshan, executive director of the Washington, D.C. internship program, was interviewed regarding the objectives of the recent trip by Secretary of State Rice and Secretary of Defense Gates to the Middle East.

Al-Jazeera TV, July 29, 2007 – Khalil Jahshan, executive director of the Washington, D.C. internship program, appeared on Al-Jazeera Arabic network to discuss the first visit to the United States by new British Prime Minister Gordon Brown. Jahshan was also interviewed by Al-Jazeera International (English) on the same subject.

Modesto Bee, July 26, 2007 – Burton Rojas, coordinator of diversity, recruitment, and student services at the School of Law, was featured in an article titled "Turlock Native Wants Latinos to Aim High and Know that Opportunities Exist for Them," about Rojas' journey through law school and his hope that through his work at Pepperdine he can help encourage more Latinos and other minorities to become lawyers. Al-Jazeera TV, July 19, 2207 – Khalil Jahshan, executive director of the Washington, D.C. internship program, was interviewed about the resolutions of the Quartet Meeting held in Lisbon, Portugal, and the prospects for the Tony Blair mission to the Middle East as the newly appointed representative of the Quartet.

KCBS/KCAL, July 13, 2007 – Tim Ward, head coach of the Pepperdine women's soccer team, appeared on a live news segment broadcast from Pepperdine's Tari Frahm Rokus Soccer Field about David Beckham joining the Los Angeles Galaxy soccer team.

Connecticut Post, July 1, 2007 – Seaver College sophomore Thomas Lambert wrote an op-ed titled "Even in Politics, a House Divided Requires a Stern Mother," which describes the Lambert family's Republican party loyalty and their disagreements about the mostly likely 2008 Republican presidential candidate.
