The Los Angeles Times, Aug. 6, 2009 - James Q. Wilson, Ronald Reagan Professor of Public Policy, authored an op-ed article titled, "Goodbye to the Chief," in which he celebrated the life and career of recently retired LAPD chief William J. Bratton. Read the article.
The Journal of the American Medical Association, Aug. 5, 2009 - Angela Hawken, associate professor of public policy, was mentioned in an article titled, "Mexican Drug Violence Intertwined With U.S. Demand for Illegal Drugs," which highlighted her randomized trial of the substance abuse prevention program, Hawaii's Opportunity Probation with Enforcement (HOPE). Ode Magazine, August 2009 - Steven Sultanoff, professor of psychology and notable humor therapist, was quoted throughout the extensive article "Medicinal Mirth: The Health Benefits of Laughter," in which he commented that laughter contracts muscles, and increases blood flow and circulation.
