Dr. Phil Show, November 2009 – Thema Bryant-Davis, associate professor of psychology and director of the Culture and Trauma Research Lab, appeared in a two-part series featuring members of the Wesson family, adult survivors of horrifying childhood sexual and physical abuse. Bryant-Davis provided insight into their experience, and said, among other things, that while the abuse affected them, it doesn’t have to define them. more

KNX AM News Radio 1070, Nov. 13, 2009 – Former Judge Bruce Einhorn, director of the Asylum Clinic, was interviewed by the Los Angeles radio station to comment on the government's decision to try some Guantanamo detainees accused of terrorism in US District Court, and some before military commissions. He was interviewed on the same subject on November 16, by KTRH, a radio station in Houston, Texas.

The Orange County Register, Nov. 13, 2009 – The Pepperdine Resource, Youth Diversion and Education (PRYDE) Program was highlighted in an article titled, "Curfew Sweep Nets More Than 50 Teens." The article mentioned the program's collaboration with the Orange County District Attorney’s Office and law enforcement agencies on a curfew sweep to reduce gang participation. Read the article.

Los Angeles Times, Oct. 29, 2009 – Robert deMayo, associate dean of psychology, was quoted in an article titled, "Seeds of Adult Dishonesty Are Sown in Youth, Study Finds," in which he commented that new technologies, such as the internet, have changed ethical norms as in the case of illegal downloading and plagiarism. The Immigrant Magazine, September/October, 2009 - Jeanmarie Hamilton Boone, assistant professor of education, authored an article titled, “Six Things Every English Learner’s Parent Should Know," which marks the first of her monthly column's for the magazine. Read the article on page 13.

Malibu Times, Nov. 4, 2009 – The Diane and Guilford Glazer Institute of Jewish Studies' inaugural conference, "Finding Common Ground," was subject of an article titled, "'Finding Common Ground' Symposium Draws 400."
