Los Angeles Times, Oct. 24, 2009 - The Asylum Clinic at the School of Law was the subject of an article titled, "Asylum Seeker Realized Her Dream But Now is Missing," about Gilda Ghanipour, who was granted asylum after years on the run from her Iranian family following her conversion to Christianity. The Chronicle of Higher Education, Oct. 21, 2009 – The 16-month-long renovation of the Joslyn Plaza and Elkins Auditorium area of the Malibu campus at Pepperdine University was mentioned in an article titled, "New Buildings and Renovations at Emmanuel College, Pepperdine U., Washington College, and the U. of California at Santa Barbara." The Malibu Times, Oct. 14, 2009 – The swimming and diving team at Pepperdine University was the subject of an article titled, "Waves Crash the Competition," about their success at the PCSC Pen-thatlon held in Fresno, Oct. 9-11. Read the article.

Ventura County Star, Oct. 14, 2009 – Michael Shires, associate professor of public policy, was quoted in an article titled, "Conference Expected to Draw Figures Key to Fall of the Berlin Wall." He commented upon the historical importance of the fall of the Berlin Wall in 1989, which will have its 20th anniversary marked with a conference at the Ronald Reagan Presidential Library and Museum in Simi Valley, Calif. Inc., Sept. 30, 2009 – Charles D. Kerns, associate professor of applied behavioral science, was quoted in an article titled, "Business Owner, the Happiest Profession," in which he commented that involvement and autonomy in work tends to increase job satisfaction. Read the article.

BBC News, Sept. 29, 2009 – Khalil Jahshan, executive director of the Washington, D.C. internship program, was interviewed about the United Nations Report on Gaza issued by the Goldstone Commission assigned to investigate Israeli and Palestinian violations of human rights.
Additionally, Jahshan appeared on Press TV (September 18) and the Al-Hurra Network to discuss U.S. diplomatic efforts in the Israel and Palestinian peace negotiations. He followed with a September 24 appearance on Israeli Channel 2 News to discuss the speeches by President Barack Obama and Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu before the UN General Assembly's annual meeting.
On September 19 and 29, Jahshan appeared on the Al-Jazeera network to discuss the Obama Administration's reassessment of its strategy in Afghanistan. And on October 2, Jahshan was interviewed by Radio Monte Carlo regarding the decision of the UN Human Rights Council to postpone its discussion of the Goldstone Report on human rights violations in Gaza till next March.

Forbes, Sept. 24, 2009 – The results of John Paglia's survey about Silicon Valley venture capitalists was the subject of an article titled, "VC Delusions." The associate professor of finance found that venture capitalists often had higher expectations of investment return than what transpired. Read the article.

Los Angeles Times, Sept. 24, 2009 – J. Warren Hahn, assistant professor of decision sciences, was quoted in an article titled, "Oxy Oil Discovery Could Spark New Interest in California's Energy Potential," in which he commented on California's oil production history. Read the article.
