Professor of psychology David Levy's book Cross-Cultural Psychology: Critical Thinking and Contemporary Applications was released for a fourth edition on March 4. In addition, a second edition of Levy's text Tools of Critical Thinking: Metathoughts for Psychology, will be released this summer.
Mark S. Scarberry, professor of law, testified at a Senate Judiciary Committee's Subcommittee on Administrative Oversight and the Courts hearing titled, "Abusive Credit Card Practices and Bankruptcy," on March 24. more

Jeanmarie Hamilton Boone, assistant professor of education, presented working papers on research she has done in the area of cultural competence at two major education conferences: the Hawaii International Conference on Education in January, and the California Association of Bilingual Education Conference in February. more
Robert Lloyd, chair of the International Studies and Languages Division, presented a paper about security in Southern Africa at a symposium held by the Association for the Study of Africa and the Middle East (ASMEA) and the Air Force Research Institute (AFRI) at Maxwell Air Force Base in Montgomery, AL. Curt A. Portzel, associate director for the Center for Estate and Gift Planning, authored a book review titled, "When the Religious Turn Litigious," examining the book Suing for America's Soul: Jon Whitehead, The Rutherford Institute, and Conservative Christians in the Courts by R. Jonathan Moore. Portzel's review was published in the Journal of Law and Religion, Volume XXIV, Number 1, 2008-09.
