Dean's Executive Leadership Series Presented William George

The Graziadio School of Business and Management hosted William George, Harvard Business School professor and former chairman and CEO of Medtronic, Inc., on Apr. 10 at the Drescher Campus Auditorium in Malibu. George was the fourth speaker of the 2006-2007 Dean's Executive Leadership Series.
Author of the best-selling Authentic Leadership: Rediscovering the Secrets to Creating Lasting Value and, most recently, True North: Discover Your Authentic Leadership, George teaches leadership development at Harvard Business School. As the former chairman and chief executive officer of Medtronic, a world leader in medical technology, he grew the company's market capitalization from $1.1 billion to $60 billion. Prior to joining Medtronic, he was a senior executive with Honeywell and Litton Industries.
Named Executive-of-the-Year by the Academy of Management in 2001, George was also selected as one of "The 25 Most Influential Business People of the Last 25 Years" by PBS nightly news.
