Pepperdine Women's Basketball Player Teena Wickett Earns All-WCC First Team Honors

Pepperdine freshman Teena Wickett was voted to the All-West Coast Conference first team as well as the 2007 All-Freshman team, the WCC league office announced Monday, Feb. 26. 

Wickett was one of three rookies to earn all-conference first team honors and one of five underclassmen. The Oakland, Calif. native was twice named WCC women's basketball Player of the Week during her first season with Pepperdine and led the team with five double-doubles.

For the season, Wickett is averaging 9.9 points per game on .590 shooting to go along with 7.2 rebounds.

A 2006 All-WCC first team selection, Daphanie Kennedy was tabbed honorable mention this season after ending the season second on the team in scoring at 10.4 points per game.

Pepperdine will open the conference tournament Thursday, Feb. 26, against Saint Mary's College in Moraga, Calif. It marks the third straight season that the Waves will open the league's postseason tournament against the Gaels.
