It's Time to Come Home: Homecoming 2007

Homecoming 2007

Pepperdine's Homecoming 2007 festivities, themed "It's Time to Come Home," are just around the corner. The celebration, hosted by the Seaver College and George Pepperdine College Alumni Office, will draw hundreds of alumni, their family, and friends back to the Malibu campus. Activities are scheduled to begin on Friday, Feb. 16, and run through Sunday, Feb. 18. Attendees will enjoy reconnecting with faculty, staff, coaches, and old classmates in addition to networking with new friends on the beautiful Malibu campus.

This year's Homecoming events will range from a nature hike to a museum exhibit and sporting events. Alumni are invited to go "back to the classroom," visit the current Weisman Museum exhibit, and attend a baseball game on Friday. On Saturday, families can enjoy live music, visit game booths, and purchase tasty lunches at a food court in Homecoming Village. Individuals are encouraged to attend the alumni tailgate party at Alumni Park with free In-N-Out between the baseball and basketball games.

Waves athletic action will begin at 2 p.m. on Friday when the baseball team takes on Wichita State at Eddy D. Field Stadium. The women’s lacrosse team will hit the field on Alumni Park to battle USC on Saturday at 1 p.m. Men's volleyball will play BYU at 1 p.m. that day before the women's basketball game versus LMU at 5 p.m. in Firestone Fieldhouse.

Class reunions will be held throughout the weekend beginning Friday evening when a dinner for the classes of 1980-1989 will be held at Duke's Restaurant in Malibu.

“This year we’ve made it easier to connect on campus and are excited to include current students in the process,” says Tara Lawrence. “We encourage students and alumni to register online to make reuniting easier.”
