Graziadio School Copresented 2007 Annual Directorship Boardroom Forum

The Graziadio School of Business and Management, in partnership with Directorship: The Business Resource for Directors, presented the 2007 Annual Directorship Boardroom Forum from Tuesday, June 26, through Wednesday, June 27. The annual event, titled "The New Rules of Board Effectiveness," took place at the Villa Graziadio Executive Center on Pepperdine's Malibu campus.
From executive pay to managing risk and complex regulatory complicacy—these are the issues confronting CEOs and their boards today. Fortune 500 directors, chief executives, and governance experts, as well as Graziadio School faculty, led the first-ever West Coast Directorship Boardroom Forum in a unique mix of riveting panel discussions, workgroups, and in-depth peer group exchanges.
The forum presented more than 35 speakers, 11 executive keynote addresses, six peer-driven breakout sessions, and over 70 companies and organizations. Among the highlighted speakers and presenting companies were Angelo Mozilo, CEO of Countrywide, who addressed "How Boards and Management Must Work Together;" Laura Unger, former SEC Commissioner, who spoke on "What the Beltway Has in Store in '08;" and AIG and Eversheds, which presented "Aligning Strategy and Risk Management."
