Join Pepperdine Challenge for Charity at the "Aviator Nation Running the Malibu Waves" Race 

Running the Malibu Waves

Pepperdine University's Graziadio School of Business and Management and Challenge for Charity (C4C) have joined with fashion designer Paige Mycoskie of Aviator Nation to host "Aviator Nation Running the Malibu Waves," presented by the Malibu Bay Company, on Saturday, Mar. 31, to benefit The Special Olympics and The Children's Lifesaving Foundation at Zuma Beach. 

The event, which kicks off at 8 a.m. at Zuma Beach in Malibu, will include a scenic 5K road course and an all-new 10K course that includes a beach run along the waters of Zuma. An all-time favorite component, the Kid’s Fun Run, also will be included in the day's events.

Begun in 1984 at Stanford University, Challenge for Charity's mission is to support the Special Olympics and local family-related charities as a way to develop business leaders with lifelong commitment to community involvement and social responsibility. Through participation in C4C, Pepperdine MBA candidates continue the legacy established by the business school's benefactor, George L. Graziadio, of exhibiting steadfast commitment to philanthropy, volunteerism and the community.

Every year, graduate students volunteer time in their demanding schedules to host events in an effort to raise as much money as possible for Challenge for Charity.  When not raising money and studying for classes, students are tutoring children, refurbishing learning centers and coaching Special Olympic athletes.

Aviator Nation Running the Malibu Waves Race Chairman, Andy Le, states, "This is year’s race is the best ever.  Aviator Nation Running the Malibu Waves is going to be a phenomenal event, but we cannot do it alone!  We need your support to strengthen the help we give to our charities.  We encourage everyone to lend a hand and help the cause by running, volunteering or making a donation on Saturday, March 31st."
