Contemporary Art Exhibit Opens at Weisman Museum

The Pepperdine University Frederick R. Weisman Museum of Art presents Reflections from the Artist's Eye: Contemporary Art from the Frederick R. Weisman Art Foundation on display beginning Saturday, May 17, through Sunday, Aug. 3. Members of the public are invited to attend the opening reception on Saturday, May 17, from 5 to 7 p.m.

The exhibition, curated by Billie Milam Weisman, explores various approaches to seeing, ranging from photorealism to comic caricature to cosmic abstraction. Each work offers a powerful statement about what it means to look at and reflect upon the world around us. The roster includes artists such as Charles Bell, Chema Cobo, Jack Goldstein, Joe Goode, Red Grooms, Yayoi Kusama, Matt Mullican, Nam June Paik, and Robert Yarber.

The Frederick R. Weisman Museum of Art, located on Pepperdine's Malibu campus, is open Tuesday through Sunday, 11 a.m. to 5 p.m., and is closed on Mondays and major holidays. There is no admission charge.
