Straus Institute Presents Dialogue On Future of Church Leadership

More than 60 church leaders from the Church of Christ will gather at Pepperdine University School of Law on Oct. 24 for the third Church Leaders Dialogue event. Titled "Church 2020: New Future: Trends Shaping Ministry," the event is hosted by the Straus Institute for Dispute Resolution.

The keynote address will be given by David Kinnaman, president and strategic leader of the Barna Research Group. Director of the Straus Institute's faith-based initiatives, Tim Pownall, School of Law dean Ken Starr, and University Provost Darryl Tippens will also speak. In addition to the keynote address, the event features roundtable discussions on changing trends in the church.

Kinnaman will speak on church leadership in the year 2020, including how generations X and Y will shape the church. Kinnaman is the author of the best-selling book, unChristian: What a New Generation Really Thinks about Christianity. Since joining the Barna Research Group in 1995, he has designed and analyzed nearly 500 projects for a variety of clients, including Columbia House, Compassion International, Easter Seals, Focus on the Family, Habitat for Humanity, Integrity Media, InterVarsity, NBC-Universal, Salvation Army, Sony, Thomas Nelson, Time-Life, Prison Fellowship, World Vision, Zondervan and many others.
