Pepperdine Remains Neutral During Campaign Season
With the general election fast approaching, Pepperdine faculty, staff, and students are getting involved in the political process in a variety of ways. From campaigning for favorite candidates and statewide ballot initiatives to signing up to work in polling centers, many members of the Pepperdine community are playing active roles in the 2008 election.
While citizen advocacy on the part of individuals is a mainstay of the election process in America, Pepperdine University does not advocate for or against political candidates or initiatives. Under the Federal Elections Campaign Act of 1971 the University is prohibited from engaging in activities which promote or advance a political candidate, political party, proposition, or PAC.
