The Graziadio School Debuts the Newly Redesigned Graziadio Business Review

The Graziadio Business Review (formerly the Graziadio Business Report), is now live at GBR.pepperdine.edu, featuring a brand new, redesigned Web site and fresh new content with its final issue of 2010. Commonly referred to as "the GBR," the journal is a quarterly online publication of the Graziadio School of Business and Management at Pepperdine University, offering relevant business information and analysis for business, government, and non-profit managers.

The updated name and Web site is an effort to continuously improve the journal, which has evolved many times since its inception in 1998, to remain relevant in the business and management arena. The GBR's online format has allowed for flexibility and responsiveness, and over the years the journal has grown to include video and audio content, and a blog to supplement the quarterly content.

"The journal has just undergone yet another evolution, with a complete redesign that improves user engagement and visual appeal," says Nancy Dodd, academic editor of the GBR. "We continue to deliver the same great content, but we hope the new site will allow users to access it more easily, and that they'll get involved in the conversation by commenting on articles and sharing them with their networks."

The 2010 fourth issue of the quarterly GBR features timely content—from analysis on the effects the mid-term election will have on business taxes, to research on the evolving role of real estate brokers in the digital age, along with articles on Twitter, diversification, and innovation,

John Briginshaw, assistant professor of accounting at the Graziadio School, has contributed an article about the anticipated change in the dividends law and why companies should act now, before the end of 2010 in his article, “Attn: The Corner Office – Why U.S. Firms Should Pay Special Dividends Before Year-End 2010.”

Larry Bumgardner, associate professor of business law, offers an insightful look into the new Dodd-Frank Wall Street Reform and Consumer Protection Act, with his article, "Lessons from the New Financial Regulatory Reform Law."

The new issue also includes the winner of the 2010 GBR-GSBM Student Paper Competition. "We want to congratulate the winners, Areg Bagdasarian, a 2010 MBA graduate, and Steffanie Tamehiro, a current MBA student, who wrote the winning article 'Using Social Media to Grow Your Business'," says Audra Quinn, managing editor of the GBR. "Their article discusses various forms of social media and strategies for businesses to take better advantage of these new communication tools."

Looking for a good new business book? Graziadio faculty members have reviewed a sampling of titles in this issue's Book Corner, including Living in More than One World, How Peter Drucker’s Wisdom Can Inspire and Transform Your Life by Bruce Rosenstein and Strategy for Sustainability: A Business Manifesto by Adam Werbach.
