The Graziadio School of Business and Management Welcomes Visiting Faculty from Poland

The Graziadio School of Business & Management will host three visiting faculty from the Warsaw School of Economics-SGH in Poland between Aug. 2011 and Feb. 2012. The hosting of visiting professors provides a unique opportunity for the Graziadio School to establish professional networks to enable future thought leadership, research work, publications, and long-term relationships.  

Zbigniew KrysiakZbigniew Krysiak

Zbigniew Krysiak, a finance and risk professor, is the author of more than 70 academic publications concerning finance, risk management, financial engineering, and banking. Samuel Seaman, Graziadio professor of decision science, will host him during his stay.

Krysiak’s current research is on the use of options for assessing credit and insolvency risk, as well for corporate valuation. He earned his PhD in Economics from the Warsaw School of Economics, holds an MBA from Warsaw University, and a master’s degree in Banking and Financial Engineering from the University in Toulouse in France. Krysiak plays an active part in economic life in Poland in his roles as management board member of Bank Guarantee Fund (2009); managing director of the Property Finance Section at PKO Bank of Poland (2000-2003); advisor to the president of PKO BP (2003-2007); vice president of the Management Board of Inteligo Bank(2003-2005); vice president of AIG Bank Polska (1999-2000); and member of the supervisory board of insurance company TU Europa.

Piotr ZaborekPiotr Zaborek

Piotr Zaborek, a professor of international marketing and management, specializes in market research, both qualitative and quantitative, business plans and project management. Zaborek’s host faculty member will be John Mooney, Graziadio associate professor of information systems.

Zaborek holds a PhD in Economics and completed his doctoral dissertation on “The impact of Internet technologies on efficiency of Polish manufacturing companies.” In the years between 1999 and 2009, he gained ample experience in consulting by conducting more than 50 market and management science research studies and several dozen investment and educational projects co-financed from European Union structural funds. A significant part of the aforementioned projects focused on developing comprehensive business plans and feasibility studies for investment proposals of small and mid-size companies.

Cezary SuszynskiCezary Suszynski

 

Specializing in strategic management, restructuring, merger and division of companies, and value creation, professor of management and finance Cezary Suszynski will be hosted by Graziadio faculty member Derek Podobas. Suszynski has authored over 100 papers and scientific publications on topics including restructuring, consolidation, globalization of companies, and value management. In addition to conducting research work, Suszynski actively participates in business practice, performing the functions of the supervisory boards of companies, as well as acting as a consultant-advisor (such as the privatization of enterprises, introduction of companies on the WSE, the preparation of prospectuses, etc.).
