Eighteen Student Athletes Earn Fall WCC All-Academic Honors

A total of 18 student-athletes at Pepperdine were awarded Fall All-Academic honors from the West Coast Conference on January 26, including four that made their respective first teams. To be considered, a student-athlete must be in at least their second year of competition, earn at least a 3.20 cumulative grade point average and also be a significant contributor to his or her team. 

The four student-athletes to make the first teams were Lauren Cole, a junior on the women's soccer team, who was the squad's top scorer and an All-WCC honorable mention selection; Kim Hill, a junior on the women's volleyball team, who earned AVCA All-American honorable mention and All-WCC first team honors in the fall; Lauren Lodge, a junior on the women's cross country team, who earned All-WCC honors after placing fifth overall at the conference championship meet; and Jordan Wozniak, a junior on the men's cross country team, who was Pepperdine's second-fastest runner at the WCC Championships. Lodge and Hill are two-time WCC All-Academic first team selections, while Wozniak was honorable mention in 2009.

”The West Coast Conference prides itself on excellence both in the classroom and on the fields of play," says WCC Commissioner Jamie Zaninovich. "We are proud to recognize these student-athletes, who exemplify the core values of our member institutions, for their outstanding accomplishments and for representing the ideals of the West Coast Conference."

Players from each of Pepperdine's four WCC squads received honorable mention selections: from men's cross country, Sean King; from women’s cross country, Emily Branch, Elizabeth Coe, Hannah DeWalt, Megan Doeding, Paige Mobley, Katherine Schmidt, and Mary Stutzman; from women’s volleyball, Krista Friedman; and from women's Soccer, Karissa Garcia, Callie Payetta, Ana Pontes, Michelle Spacciapolli, and Myriah Stockman.
