Program Overview

On-Campus Faculty and Staff Housing

Pepperdine University at Malibu is a residential institution of higher learning committed to academic excellence and Christian values. The mission of the University is enhanced when a significant number of its students, faculty, and staff are able to live in proximity to one another. To foster community, the University attempts to make housing available to certain faculty and staff who support the University mission. Two housing developments are available on the Malibu campus: the Campus View Condominiums (located on Baxter Drive) and Campus View II (located on the Drescher Graduate Campus).

These webpages have been designed to provide general information about these two housing developments so that qualified full-time University employees can determine whether he/she might be interested in completing an application to be placed on the University's list of qualified purchasers. A completed application does not guarantee that one is qualified to purchase a condominium, nor does it guarantee that one will be selected if placed on the University's priority list. An applicant is not bound in any manner to purchase a condominium if he/she completes an application. None of the information contained on this website constitutes an offer for sale or lease of any of the condominiums in the two on-campus housing developments. Furthermore, all of the information contained on these pages is subject to change and is non-binding on the University.

Eligibility Statement:

Faculty and staff housing options - Pepperdine University

Ownership, possession, and use of condominiums shall be limited to persons determined eligible in accordance with the policy and criteria of the University, it is understood that faculty/staff housing is intended and dedicated to further the purposes of the University by enhancing and encouraging the development of relationships among students, faculty, administrators and other members of the University community. To further these purposes the University will in its sole discretion (i) restrict eligibility to faculty members, administrators, staff members and employees of the University; (ii) establish priorities among those deemed eligible and (iii) reserve and/or restrict certain designated units to certain groups among those deemed eligible, such group determinations to be made on the basis of factors relating to service to Pepperdine University.

All full-time faculty and staff are welcome to apply for placement on the University priority list of qualified purchasers. In addition to the above eligibility considerations, applicants must be financially qualified to purchase. If the circumstances of your employment with the University change, you may no longer be eligible to own on campus. Before signing a purchase contract you will be requested to review and approve these restrictions.

Final selections will be made by the University Housing and Residence Life Committee.

Note:

The resale price limitations preclude the on-campus homes from serving as speculative investment vehicles. For those university-associated persons whose principle objective in purchasing real estate is capital gain, it is strongly recommended that they consider acquiring a home in the unrestricted general marketplace rather than on campus.

Selling

The resale price of your condominium is tied to an index set forth in the CC&Rs that contemplates that the physical condition of your condominium conforms to a "high standard of habitability and maintenance"
