Reserving the Chapel
Thank you for your interest in Stauffer Chapel.
Stauffer Chapel is a beautiful expression of Pepperdine University's Christian mission. Above all, it is a sacred space for quiet meditation, prayer, and group worship.
The chapel is available on a limited basis to members of the University community for the holy rite of marriage and other sacred services.
The Application Process
Applications will only be considered when
A. the applicant is the chapel's primary user for the requested private event (Ex.: the applicant is the bride or the groom), and
B. this same applicant has one of the following affiliations:
(1) a current Pepperdine University student, faculty or staff member;
(2) the child of a parent who is a current faculty or staff member;
(3) a current member of the University Church of Christ;
(4) a Pepperdine University alumnus.
Even for members of the University community, there are limited opportunities for use of Stauffer Chapel. As such, you are well advised to pursue other potential locations early during this application process in the event that your application and requested times/dates cannot ultimately be accommodated.
A Scheduled Meeting
Those who are eligible per the requirements, above, may contact the Special Programs Coordinator at (310)506-6504 for an application. Once completed and returned, the applicant's eligibility is confirmed against University records, and the application is forwarded to the University Chaplain or University Church of Christ minister. A meeting is then scheduled with the applicant(s) (ex.: both bride and groom) before a final chapel use decision is made.
No ceremony times and dates will be reserved prior to this final application approval.
