WAVES WRAP UP OUTSTANDING YEAR WITH WCC COMMISSIONER'S CUP

Pepperdine University has claimed its second consecutive Commissioner's Cup as the finest athletic program in the West Coast Conference (WCC). The Waves completed a sweep by winning both the Men's and Women's All-Sports awards.

Senior All-American Katherine Hull was named NCAA Division I Golfer of the Year.

Pepperdine has won or shared WCC titles in seven sports to date this season-women's basketball, men's golf, women's golf, women's soccer, men's tennis, women's tennis, and women's volleyball. Additionally, Pepperdine won regular season Mountain Pacific Sports Federation titles in men's volleyball and water polo.

Nine Waves teams received invitations to compete in postseason play. Women's golf finished the year as the nation's second best team, while water polo and men's volleyball closed out the year rated No. 3. Women's volleyball secured an "Elite Eight" finish, and women's soccer won its first-ever WCC title and advanced to wrap the season rated as high as No. 6 in the final polls. Women's basketball was the only team from the Los Angeles area in men's or women's basketball to advance to the NCAA tournament and was recognized by the Boston Globe as having the highest graduation rate (100 percent) among all teams in the women's NCAA basketball field. Baseball, women's tennis, men's tennis, and men's golf also qualified for postseason play.
